This Christmas features strong performances and a sharp portrayal of family dynamics, but relies too heavily on holiday movie clichés.

Charles R That showcased the balance of the life cycle of the entire year, became adequately amusing through this movie. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/25/23 Full Review StephenPaul C LOL, the funniest 01 hour: and 57 minutes ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Merry Christmas from 2023 to 2029!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/23/23 Full Review Paul This might well be the worst scripted, most cliched Xmas movie ever-made with absolutely zero self awareness. Absurd with no redeeming qualities. The really shocking thing is how poorly the big name ensemble cast perform. Avoid this at Christmas and the rest of the year too... Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/26/22 Full Review Audience Member Great movie! This is never on the must watch Christmas movie list but definitely should be. It has a stellar cast. It manages to be hilarious and heartfelt. I don't think it gets the recognition it deserves because not to terribly long after all that with Chris Brown and Rhiana happened. Either way he is not the only person in this movie. It's a very ensemble cast. And deserves a watch. You won't be disappointed. And the end is hysterical. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review ayd l In this black version of the family stone. The writers decided to give us thieves, gangsters, gun crime, one night stands, racism and single parenthood instead of a heart warming family friendly Christmas comedy. Happy holidays! Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member It's a good cast of actors & there are some lovely moments but be prepared for violence. Against one of the sons because he is in debt and unable to pay, and then there is a disturbing domestic violence scene where the husband is beaten with a belt. That kind of behaviour is never acceptable but in the film the wife actions feel justified. If the behaviour was reversed between husband & wife it would be scene for the abuse that it is. Chris Brown's singing makes the film & Joe Black's character us v likeable. Not enough humour & too much violence. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Deborah Ross The Spectator Tries to be a Christmas film about real ishoos but it is quite boring and predictable and sentimental and the acting is not very good. It is therefore perfect for Christmas, and upholds all the traditions very, very well. Aug 22, 2018 Full Review Melissa Anderson Time Out Rated: 2/5 Nov 16, 2011 Full Review Elizabeth Weitzman New York Daily News o matter how silly the situation, each member of the uniformly strong cast creates a nice balance between sentimental and sweet -- which is just how every holiday gathering should feel. Rated: 2.5/4 Dec 1, 2007 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com An entertaining and heartfelt film that makes the most of its wonderful cast. Rated: 3.0/4.0 Sep 26, 2020 Full Review Cynthia Fuchs PopMatters You've seen the scene before, in a movie like this one, and you've heard the much-covered song before, but Brown makes it feel new again. Nov 4, 2019 Full Review Jeffrey Lyles Lyles' Movie Files Easily the best film of its genre since 'Soul Food' and definitely makes for a excellent holiday season treat.
